I remember using a phone at my cousin's place and it was a party-line phone, so the there were pros and cons to that whole tele-communications set up!
No, by party-line, I don't mean fun-chat and social chatting or one of those supposedly fun dating sites, I mean Multi-Party-Line or Shared Service Line.
Here's the deal with that, in the past: 2 or 3 families shared the same line and if you weren't careful about what you were talking about, a neighbour could easily hear your conversation.
Each "party" or household was assigned a ringing cadence (type of ring), like:
- Long ring sound, long ring sound, pause....long ring, long ring, pause....etc
- Short ring - short ring - short ring, pause, short-short-short, pause....etc
- Long-short ring, long short ring, pause....etc
And it was basically up to each party to ignore the other party/household's rings and leave the phone alone, only answering your respective proper rinding cadence.
Above: a segment of the old "Dennis The Menace" television show entitled "Party Line Trouble." --you can see what a hassle using party-lines could be at one time, I'm sure!
NOWADAYS, however...
With the invention of cell phones, we are technically carrying around little mini computers with us all day long.
The new phones coming out in 2015 (the year I'm making this post) have more capabilities and are better than the first computer I owned!
My phone is better than the netbook computer I purchased in 2009, except it's much smaller and I type one-handed, point-and-peck on the phone, while I can use both hands and type faster on the netbook.
With all of this in mind - the fact that a cellphone is like a little mini computer - I say it will benefit me - and YOU, TOO - to make good use of the cell phone device to earn some money!
Phone APPS are cool, fun, and app developers who create decent, functional apps and games are making big bucks. Out of this, a whole new and lucrative industry, aside from cell phone technology has been born. The software (apps) that people use on the actual hardware (phones) has turned out to be a huge arena for profit.
If you don't know how to make cell apps - and I don't (but I am learning!) - you can still get in on cell phone app money - by using that little mini-computer you're always carrying around! There are tons of apps that are for the end-user (us - cell phone users), including survey apps, game apps, video viewing apps, and more...
